Helmipuikko

Neliö lehtihuivi

All patterns are first in finnish and after that in english, just scroll down the page. Thank you!

Koko n. 160x160cm.

Puikot 5mm

Lanka 50% mohair 50% akryyli, 165m/50g

Menekki 500g

Omassa kappaleessani tein huivin reunapitsistä turhan pitkän, joten kuvio ei pääse kunnolla näkyviin. Kannattaa mallata tarkkaan sopivaa pituutta. Tarkemman kuvan reunuksesta löytää muutama postaus taaksepäin.

Kannattaa ehdottomasti käyttää silmukkamerkkejä helpottamassa työtä.

Luo 16s ja jaa ne tasan neljälle puikolle. Neulo kaavion mukaan kerrokset 1-25.

Kerroksen 25 jälkeen siirrä kerroksen aloitusmerkkiä kolmen silmukan verran vasemmalle. Eli jatkossa kerros alkaa ensimmmäisen kulmassa olevan palmikon alusta. Neulo jatkossa kulmissa palmikkoa ensimmäisessä kaaviossa keltaisella merkityn mallikerran mukaan.

Neulo vääliin jäävillä silmukoilla mallineuletta toisen kaavion mukaan. Kaavioon on merkitty vihreällä sivujen mallikerrat ja keltaisella keskelle jäävän lehtikuvion mallikerta. Jokaisen 24 kerroksen mallikerran jälkeen keskelle tulee kaksi lehtikuviota lisää.

Lopuksi neulo reunus. Kaavio on hiukan eri kuin minun huiviini tekemäni. Omastani puuttuu oiken reunasilmikan viereiset neljä silmukkaa. Tämä johtuu puhtaasti siitä, että minulla oli ongelmia langan riittävyyden kanssa. Kaavion mukaan neuloen tulee kuitenkin mielestäni kauniimpi.

Size: 160x160cm.

Needles: 5mm

Yarn: 50% mohair 50% acryl (165m/50g), 500g

* purl 3 sts together

white: knit

black: no stitch

red: bind off

With circular beginning (double pointed needles), cast on 16sts and distribute evenly. Place marker for beginning of round. Begin first chart, knit rows 1-25.

Then replace marker, beginning of round moved 3 sts to the left. So next round starts where the first "cable" begins. Continue knitting "cable" (23sts in every corner) as marked with yellow colour in first chart.

There is 7sts between "cables", Knit second chart with those stitches. After you have finished second chart, continue knitting as rows 45-68, but knit the area marked with yellow three times. You can choose the size you want just by repeating rows 45-68, only just knitting that yellow marked area two times more than you did last time...

Use third chart to knit the border.

Please send me a message, if there is something yuo don´t quite understand...

What does the symbol "x" mean on the third chart? It appears as the first and last stitch on every row of the chart. This pattern is so beautiful and I want to do it. Can you send me an e-mail please? My address is mm7toy@yahoo.com
Thank you so much for sharing this lovely pattern. Marilyn McLean

I also wpuld like to know what "X" is in chart 3. Also is chart knit perpendicular to the rest of the shawl? or out from the rest of the shawl?
I have my yarn and am ready to start this beautiful shawl.
Thank you.
Tiiheli kirjoitti 10.05.2011 - 21:20
X is just edge stitch, knit it on every row, or knit on right side and slip on wrong side. Make it just as you like. Chart 3 (edging) is knitted perpendicular. You can sew it in when it´s finished or purl last edging stitch together with one shawl stitch on every second row.
charlottestaten1@gmail.com kirjoitti 17.05.2011 - 21:58
Please clarify chart 3.

how many stitches do you cast on?

what are the row numbers?

what section(s) are repeats?

Thank you.

I am currently knitting your beautiful shawl and I am almost ready to knit the border (chart 3) so I would like more clarification for this chart.
Tiiheli kirjoitti 18.05.2011 - 18:25
Hi!

Cast on 41sts (number of stiches vary on different rows), purl one row and start knitting chart 3, first row. There is 12 rows that repeat. Every 12th row you cast of 14sts (=41sts). You repeat these rows until edge is long enough.
charlotte kirjoitti 18.05.2011 - 19:56
Thank you for your prompt reply to my questions.
I hope to knit the edge onto my shawl, as I believe it gives a more secure attachment.
After knitting a sample of chart 3 , it seems that it is knit along the edge of the shawl ( using a 40stitch repeat) so that the leaves fall in the correct direction, and not perpendicular to it. Is this correct?
Martha Jackson kirjoitti 16.08.2011 - 20:22
I knitted 1-25 rows, what do I do next? please email back. Thanks

Maybe this helps also someone else...

In the beginning of the round, purl 3 and place a marker, this will be the new baginning of the round. Then make yellow marked area from first chart (row 20 ->) (with these 23 stitches, you will repeat these 23 sts and 6 rows until the end of the shawl = the corner pattern.) Then make second chart (= center pattern). Repeat these charts 3 more times and 26th round is ready... Make corner pattern row 21, then center pattern row 27, repaet these 3 more times = 27th round...

Love this afghan but can anyone please put the entire pattern in English. I am totally lost. I'm kind of an intermediate knitter and hopt to make this but I really can't understand this pattern. Does anyone have it available in English translation for the entire pattern? (k1, yo, p2) I would really appreciate any help translating this.
Thanks for any help. If you can help me out, my email is tlanemn@msn.com

I would also love to have this entire pattern written out in English. I'm extremely new to charts and they're hard enough for me to follow in English, let alone a different language. Please email me at unicorn_dove@hotmail.com if this pattern is written in English. Thank you!
Tammy Brown kirjoitti 18.09.2011 - 02:02

Hi! I´m sorry, but written pattern aren´t just for me. I think it´s too difficult to make written pattern, I would propably make many errors... If there is anyone who is willing to turn my charts to written pattern, that would be perfect!

I am ready to knit the edging (chart 3) and do not understand how to do it. Do I knit chart 3 on a separate set of needles? or Do I continue knitting in the round? Please try to explain how to knit chart 3 anyone.

Thanks!
Tiiheli kirjoitti 01.11.2011 - 15:47
Hi!

You can knit it separately and sew in later or in every second row (wrong side row) knit last stitch together with one or two shawl stitch(es). Border (chart 3) is knitted sideways.

Your design in so lovely, thank you for sharing it. I am 80 years old, a good knitter, but not so good with charts. Any chance you can find some kind person to translate your charts into written English instructions? I would love to make this as a keepsake for my very first great-granddaughter, but have too much trouble with eyesight and understanding charts. Thank you again. My email is: dionez@comcast.net
